Hybrid work is a combination of working from home and working from the office (Kirkham, 2022). This approach carries pros and cons like a variety of things in our day-to-day.
According to a survey done by Gallup in the US, 52% use the hybrid approach.
Pros
1. Better work-life balance
A hybrid workplace will give employees a better work-life balance alongside improving employee satisfaction. Reductions in physical and mental stress will motivate employees and give them more time to attend to personal matters (North East BIC, 2021).
2. Rise in productivity
The employees are more concentrated with fewer distractions owing to the flexibility enabled by hybrid work environments. As a result, a spike in productivity can be noticed (North EastBIC, 2021).
3. Talent Retention and attraction
A hybrid work environment is an added opportunity that an employer can offer to the employees. Therefore by adding a such feature, the employer can retain the best talent in the company. Moreover, the company can widen the talent scope by enabling candidates living elsewhere to apply (Kirkham, 2022).
4. Cost-effective
Hybrid working allows employees to work from home and by doing so employers aren't required to find working space which will save the company a significant amount in utility, renting costs and real estate (Akhter, 2022).
Cons
1. Not all industries are capable of adopting
Some industries such as manufacturing and essential service providers therefore are required to be on-site where it is difficult to work remotely. if a hybrid work plan is put in place it could result in a drop in productivity (North East BIC, 2021).
2. difficulties in planning and collaborating with remote employees
If necessary technology and infrastructure are not provided it would be hard for the employer to collaborate with his employees and it could hinder the company's productivity (Kirkham, 2022).
3. unable to provide client and customer experience
Some industries do require customers to face employees because it is essential that the customer gets the best experience and customer service (North East BIC, 2021).
4. Isolation
By working remotely some employees may feel lonely and away which could lead to worries about the well-being of the employees(North East BIC, 2021).

Conclusion
The concept of hybrid working has become widely accepted across most industries since the pandemic of 2019. Although there are some drawbacks, this strategy appears to be the best and the most dependable given that it results win-win opportunities to both the employer and the employee. The employees desire remote work due to the flexibility and work-life balance meanwhile the employers can benefit with spikes in productivity and cost reductions in certain areas. It appears to be getting better and producing results, so it is undoubtedly here to stay.
This article provides a convincing overview of the advantages and disadvantages of hybrid work. I question if claiming that hybrid work is universally the "optimal and most reliable" method for all businesses may be an exaggeration.

One of the biggest problems the business world faces in the 21st century is talent deficiency. The technological enhancements (Gandhi, 2023) and the competitive job market (Junejo, 2024) have made it challenging for the employers to attract the right talent in the business world. The talent crisis could rise up to 85.2 million people by the end of 2030 which is an alarming number if correct measures and strategies have not been taken to mitigate the issue (Junejo, 2024). A survey done by the Manpower Group (2023) indicates that healthcare & life science industries are the most vulnerable for talent shortage followed by consumer goods & services, IT and Transport, Logistics & Automotive. The survey further highlights that an average 75% of the employers find it difficult to fill up roles a staggering 6% rise within the last 5 years. What are the reasons for talent shortage around the world? 1. Reduction in the working-age populations The working-age po...
Introduction Artificial Intelligence has been the source of profound change across different sectors, but not least among them, the field of recruitment. Organizations will utilize AI technologies, meaning that the recruitment process can be less lengthy and more efficient for the candidates, and they can make better-informed hiring decisions (Hupfer, 2020). 1. Candidate sourcing and screening AI-based systems are able to execute the first phase of the recruitment process where the resumes and job applications are screened. The AI will filter and exclude the unqualified candidates from the list, and the most prominent ones, based on the given criteria, will be highlighted. This helps recruiters considerably because they could concentrate on the best for the job candidates instead of wasting their time and effort (Tambe 2017). 2. introduction Recruitment styles have changed, developed and advanced in time and one of the newer approaches organizations use in the modern day is Gamification. As an example, we can point out how Google uses a billboard mathematical riddle in recruiting where people have to solve an equation and candidates who successfully achieve the task end up being ideal candidates. (Boghani 2022) Gamification uses gaming technology, design, and theory in a non-gaming context. It is used as a marketing strategy to capture good talent and it has been introduced as a fine alternative to the other traditional recruiting approaches. (wali, 2022) s...
